Media Work Experience

This area of our business covers everything from the people who present the TV, through to the Camera Operators and Editors. To join the great people here, you’ll need to be genuinely passionate about TV – about making it, about shaping it and about watching it.

All of our work experience programmes are un-waged but successful applicants will receive £15 a day towards their travel and expenses.

We also have a limited number of bursary placements will be available to those candidates from economically disadvantaged backgrounds that would normally be unable to take up a placement due to financial reasons.

Work Experience in Sky Creative

Sky Creative is an award winning, highly creative, busy and exciting department. It provides an in-house creative agency service for business areas across the whole of Sky, delivering brilliant conceptual ideas, creative, design and interactive solutions for a wide range of business requirements across all media. Sky Creative combines On-air Promo, Design & Graphics, Interactive and Print departments all in one.

Requirements: We are looking for budding artist, designer, film maker, digital guru, or those who are just generally creative with some experience of using graphics software and have ideas plus a pro-active attitude aged 18 and over.

Duration: 5 days (Monday to Friday)

Locations: Osterley, West London

Work Experience in Sky News

For 25 years Sky News has built its reputation on being first at bringing our viewers the very best news and analysis. This is your chance to spend time amongst one of the most talented teams in the news industry, experiencing what it’s like to work in a fast paced multi-platform news environment.

Requirements: You must be able to demonstrate a passion for journalism

Duration: Max. 3 weeks

Locations: Osterley, West London

Work Experience in Sky Production Services

Sky Production Services is a team of over 700 talented people who make sure that our customers’ have a great content experience; from the pictures they see to the sound they hear. You’ll get first-hand real-life production experience as well as seeing how everything behind the scenes in the office work

Requirements: You must be over 18, and have a passion for production and an interest in finding out more about a career in the operational crafts and disciplines associated with programme making such as cameras, lighting, scenery, editing, ingest and media management to name just a few.

Duration:  4 days (Monday to Thursday)

Locations: Osterley, West London
